The Wiley X CQC ballistic convertible safety goggles are a set of lower profile goggles (built to be slimmer and flatter than bulkier models) that can quickly and easily be converted into ballistic spectacles that protect the wearer from the small projectiles and fragments that erupt while firing a gun. A set of inserts for prescription eye wear are an optional feature of this model of goggles. Built with prescription lenses in mind, all of this model's certifications were done under the condition of having prescription lenses built in during the testing.

This model is certified to ANSI 287.1 203 High Impact and Optical Performance standards. This certifies that the goggles provide protection against a variety of hazards that might damage the human eye and that their components will stay intact despite high mass and high velocity impacts and penetration damages. These 3 mm thick lenses can survive pointed projectiles weighing up to 500 grams and 6.36 mm steel balls hurled at it at high speed.

With only 3% haze in the lens components, the Wiley X CQC offers some of the clearest sight on the market. A built in high flow venting system ensures that the goggles will not become fogged at a bad time. Further, all goggles provide as much side protection as possible for the design. The Wiley X can also handle extreme levels of corrosion, as the metallic parts of the goggles are tested to survive being boiled and immersed in sodium chloride and remain functional. This model has also been subjected to the VO ballistic impact test ML-PRF-31013, showing that this model can survive a .15 caliber projectile impact moving at 640 to 660 feet per second when mounted as it would be in use covering the eye and face.
