We used these in our optics lab with a bright white light source used for our UV epoxy curing processes. Nice strong spectrum protection just out of the UV range and just before the IR... Uvex Genesis XC Safety Glasses with Black Frame and Shade 5 LensDanielApril 15, 2008These are very nice glasses that are very dark with a green shade to everything. Perfect if you suffer from light sensitivity. There's a little bit of red color attenuation, which may take a little bit of getting used to. Stop lights, brake lights, and pedestrian signs are visible through these. The arms have an adjustable length (4 'click' settings). They tend to scratch fairly easily, so take care of them and get a case for protection. I've had four sets of these already. 5 stars due to how well the glasses sit and how fast SafetyglassesUSA sent them out without one problem. NOTE: I have noticed that the hinge bracket tends to crack very easily. Bending the arms too far will most assuredly snap them or weaken the plastic. This may be caused by rough use on my part or the design. Once it cracks, the glasses don't sit well on the face at all. If they don't, a close inspection might reveal the crack. I typically buy three or four at a time in case this happens.
