While they have no direct vents, the nose area does not sit flat to the face on most wearers, leaving a large amount of space for chemicals to get it. The sides also do not sit flat on the face, allowing for lots of room for possible chemical entry. That said, they do not fog up as much as some of the other goggles we have tried. The behind-the-head band seems sturdy.
